Verification Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

This page explains what "verified" will mean on Mami Coker, what it will not mean, and where things stand today. We want you to know exactly what we have and have not checked.

1. Where Things Stand Today

  • Every provider is phone-confirmed only. When someone registers, we send a one-time code to their WhatsApp and they enter it. That shows they can receive messages on that number.
  • It does not confirm who they are, what skills or licences they have, or how good their work is.
  • No provider has been identity-verified or service-verified yet, and no profile shows a verification label.
  • We will not describe a provider as "verified", "identity checked" or "recommended" until that check has really been done.

2. What We Plan to Introduce

We plan to use separate levels, and to explain each one in plain language:

  • Phone-confirmed (today). The provider confirmed their phone number with a one-time code.
  • Identity Verified (planned). Our staff have reviewed the provider's national ID, profile photo and WhatsApp number. It means we confirmed who they are and how to reach them.
  • Service Verified (planned). Identity Verified, plus we have reviewed evidence about the service they list: examples of their work, the area they serve, and at least one reference.
  • Recommended (planned). Service Verified, plus enough confirmed positive feedback from customers who used the service.

These levels are plans, not promises of a date. We will update this page when each one starts.

3. What Verification Does Not Mean

  • It is not a guarantee of quality, safety, price, or that the work will be done.
  • It is not our promise that a provider is right for your job.
  • Identity verification only confirms that we reviewed an identity document. It does not prove the quality of a provider's work.
  • A level can be removed at any time. Always do your own checks: ask for references, look at their work, and agree the price first.

4. How ID Would Be Handled

Mami Coker does not collect ID today, and our Privacy Policy says so. Before we start, we will update the Privacy Policy and tell providers exactly what we collect and why. When we do:

  • Only staff who need to see it will see it.
  • It will never be shown publicly on a profile.
  • It will be kept only as long as we need it, and not used for anything else.

5. Removing a Level

We may remove a verification level if information turns out to be false or out of date, or after a complaint is upheld (see our Complaints Policy). We will tell the provider, and they can ask us to look again.

6. Reviews and Feedback

Customer reviews are also planned but are not available yet. The rules for them are in our Moderation Policy.

7. If You See a Wrong Claim

If a profile claims to be verified, checked or recommended and you think that is not true, email info@mamicoker.com with a link to the profile.
